The Real Problem Is Not a Lack of Training Options
There are too many. Coursera, edX, MIT OpenCourseWare, dozens of schools in Morocco, online bootcamps. The challenge is choosing what fits your actual situation.
A Chief HR Officer who wants to understand how AI will reshape HR processes does not need the same path as a project manager who wants to automate repetitive tasks. And neither of them needs to learn Python.
The first question to ask yourself: do I want to understand or do?
Step 1: Define Your Profile and Your Goal
Three typical profiles:
The executive or board member. Their need: understand the strategic stakes, ask the right questions of their teams, avoid poorly informed decisions. They do not need technical depth. They need AI literacy.
The operational manager. Their need: identify relevant use cases in their scope, lead an AI project, evaluate a vendor. They need a hybrid approach, part strategic, part practical.
The professional looking to reposition. Their need: acquire real technical skills, earn a recognized certification, move into a new market position. That means several months of serious investment.

Step 2: Choose the Right Platform for Your Level
For beginners without a technical background:
Elements of AI (University of Helsinki) is a solid starting point. Free, available in French, designed for non-technical audiences. You will understand what AI is, what it is not, and how it works without writing a single line of code.
For managers who want to go further:
Coursera and edX host programs from major universities. Andrew Ng’s AI for Everyone on Coursera has become a reference for non-technical professionals. Available at low cost, it builds a shared language with your technical teams in just a few hours.
For professionals pursuing a serious repositioning:

Step 3: Start Short, Then Go Deeper
The classic mistake: signing up for a six-month program before testing whether the subject actually holds your attention.
Start with a course of a few hours. Free if possible. With a certificate at the end to validate the effort. If you complete it and want more, you have your answer.

Everyone sells certificates. They are not all equal.
Those that carry weight on a CV or in a negotiation:
AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate. These certifications require real technical depth and are widely referenced in specialized job postings.
For non-technical profiles who want something credible: the AI for Business certificate from Wharton Online or short programs from MIT Sloan. They do not make you an engineer, but they signal a serious approach to the subject.

Step 5: Pitfalls to Avoid
The too-technical-too-soon trap. If you spend the first two hours understanding nothing, you quit. Start at your actual level, not the one you wish you had.
The certificate-without-practice trap. The certificate itself is not the problem. What reduces its value is the absence of a concrete project behind it. Look for programs that include exercises on real data or use cases from your sector.
The generalist-training-for-a-specific-need trap. If your challenge is AI governance in your organization, a course on neural networks will not help. Target what you need now.
The waiting trap. What I observe with my clients is that teams who started building AI skills eighteen months ago have a real head start over those who waited for a perfect plan.
What You Can Expect After Two Months
If you follow a structured path of a few hours per week for two months, you will be able to understand what your technical teams are proposing, evaluate an AI vendor without being sold smoke, and ask the right questions in a leadership meeting.
